This Privacy Policy explains how Pro Compass ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), published by Shenzhen Caractiv Tech Company Limited ("Caractiv Tech"), handles information when you use our application and related services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and only collecting what is necessary to provide and improve the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. No Account Required

The App does not require you to create an account, register, or log in. You can use the App without providing your name, email address, or any other identity information to us. Your settings and any photos you capture are stored locally on your device.

2. Information We Collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Depending on how you use the App, this may include:

Location data: when you use the compass, altimeter, weather map, or watermark camera, the App accesses your device's GPS location to display your heading, coordinates, and altitude, and to embed them in your photos. Your approximate coordinates are also sent to third-party weather and map providers solely to retrieve weather information and map tiles for your area. We do not use your location for any other purpose and do not store location history on our own servers.
Camera and photos: the watermark camera uses your camera to capture photos. With your permission, photos you choose to save are written to your device's photo library. Photos are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us.
Motion and barometer sensors: the App reads your device's motion and barometric-pressure sensors to provide compass, level, and altitude readings. This data is processed on your device.
Device and usage data: basic technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, language settings, and anonymous diagnostics used to keep the App working properly.
Purchase data: when you subscribe or make a purchase, the app store and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) process the transaction and provide us with the resulting subscription status. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Advertising and attribution identifiers: if you grant tracking permission (see Section 5), the App may collect an advertising identifier and related attribution data through AppsFlyer and Meta to measure advertising performance. If you do not grant permission, this data is not collected.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information only for legitimate purposes, including to:

provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features (compass, altimeter, level, weather map, and camera);
retrieve weather and map data for your current location;
process and validate your subscription or purchase;
respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the App;
diagnose problems, improve performance, and, with your consent, measure advertising performance;
comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

The App relies on reputable third-party services to function. These include:

Weather and map data: WeatherAPI.com, OpenWeatherMap, QWeather, Open-Meteo, RainViewer, MapTiler, OpenStreetMap, and Amap — to provide weather information and map tiles based on your coordinates.
Subscriptions and payments: the Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat — to process and validate purchases.
Attribution and analytics (only with your consent): AppsFlyer and Meta — to measure advertising performance.

These providers process data only as needed to perform their service and are expected to maintain appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal information.

5. App Tracking Transparency and Advertising ID

On iOS, the App will ask for your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites, in accordance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. No tracking or advertising identifier is collected unless you grant this permission. On Android, an advertising identifier may be used for the same purpose. You can change your choice at any time in your device's privacy settings.

6. Storage of Your Data

Your settings and photos are stored locally on your device. Location coordinates are transmitted to weather and map providers only at the moment of a request and are not retained by us. Purchase and, where applicable, attribution data are processed by the third-party providers listed above.

7. Data Retention

We keep information only for as long as needed to provide the App or as required by law. Content stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. You may request deletion of any personal data we or our providers hold by contacting us (see Section 8).

8. Data and Account Deletion

Because the App does not require an account, there is no account to delete. You remain in control of your data at all times:

Delete content in the App: remove individual photos from your device's photo library, and reset App settings within the App.
Delete all local data: uninstalling the App permanently removes all settings and data stored on your device.
Request deletion of any data we hold: if you would like us to delete any personal data associated with you (including any advertising or attribution data processed by our service providers), email us at contactus@caractiv.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". We will verify and process your request within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain data by law.

Please note: cancelling a subscription does not delete your data, and deleting your data does not cancel a subscription. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your device's App Store or Google Play account settings.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and network requests use encrypted connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

11. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage app permissions (location, camera, photos, tracking) in your device settings at any time. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

12. International Users

If you use the App from outside the country where our service providers are located, your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is posted, and the "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
